Some thoughts: Hearts & Hands exists to support creative people in WELS and beyond through in-person weekend events, a website, and this podcast. Throughout each episode, listeners can sense Babler and Sonnenberg’s passion for art and creativity. As they often explain, all people are different, and art and creativity can allow Christians and congregations to connect all people to God’s universal message.

While some episodes employ a roundtable format on a particular topic related to art or art education, most episodes feature an interview with a WELS creative. The hosts are intentional about keeping episodes around 30 minutes in length while expertly leading a conversation that allows guests—including visual artists, writers, and musicians—to share about their craft. Creative listeners with the desire to use their God-given gifts to serve the church will find a sense of kinship and belonging within the Hearts & Hands community. Others will find themselves encouraged by the prevailing message of the gospel’s spread through art.
