On Feb. 4, members of Our Savior, Sun City, Ariz., thanked Fern Junso for 46 years of service as organist.

During vacation Bible camp at St. Paul’s, Franklin, Wis., more than 50 volunteers shared Jesus with 141 children.

On April 14, St. Paul, Green Bay, Wis., dedicated a new ministry center, which includes a reception area and offices; 3K to 5K classrooms; and a large community space for fellowship, nurture, and outreach efforts. Portions of its existing building are being repurposed to make room for more upper-grade classrooms.

Pilgrim, Menomonee Falls, Wis., celebrated its 65th anniversary on May 10.

Kettle Moraine Lutheran High School, Jackson, Wis., celebrated the 25th anniversary in the teaching ministries of Jamie Luehring and Rachel Luehring at the school’s graduation service in May.

At the end of the last school year, Martin Luther College, New Ulm, Minn., recognized faculty members for service anniversaries, including Daniel Balge, 40 years in the pastoral ministry; Brian Dose, 40 years in the pastoral ministry; Craig Hirschmann, 40 years in the teaching ministry; Rebecca Cox, 35 years in the teaching ministry; Paul Koelpin, 35 years in the pastoral ministry; Ross Stelljes, 35 years in the pastoral ministry; Darrell Berg, 30 years in the teaching ministry; Brian Hennig, 30 years in the pastoral ministry; Jonathan Roux, 30 years in the teaching ministry; Heath Dobberpuhl, 25 years in the teaching ministry; Matthew Pearson, 25 years in the teaching ministry; Benjamin Clemons, 20 years in the teaching ministry; Rae Fredrich, 10 years in the teaching ministry; and Melissa Berg, 10 years in the teaching ministry. Staff members celebrating service anniversaries included Jackie Dalueg, 10 years; Michelle Grubbs, 10 years; Benj Matzke, 10 years; Wendy Ristow, 15 years; Jill Roux, 15 years; Valerie Fischer, 20 years; and Aaron Spike, 20 years.

John & Paul Ministries, a combined outreach effort of St. John’s and St. Paul’s, both in New Ulm, Minn., held a June soccer camp attended by more than 120 children ages three through ten.

On June 23, Saving Grace, Mobile, Ala., celebrated its 50th anniversary.

On June 30, King of Kings Christian Academy, Garden Grove, Calif., celebrated the teaching ministry anniversaries of Nancy Sanchez (30 years) and Josh Robertson (5 years).

Zion, Brighton Township, Minn., celebrated its 125th anniversary on June 30.

On July 14, Sola Fide, Lawrenceville, Ga., celebrated the 25th anniversary in the pastoral ministry of Michael Kober.

On July 21, St. Paul, Ixonia, Wis., celebrated its 175th anniversary.

St. Mark, Salina, Kan., celebrated its 50th anniversary on July 28.

St. Paul, Oconto Falls, Wis., held its closing service on Aug. 4, after 73 years of ministry.

MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN

In June, members at St. Marcus, Milwaukee, Wis., prepared 21 freezer meals to share with families in the community.

Twenty-one teens and 13 adults from Holy Word, Austin, and Divine Savior–Sienna, Missouri City, Texas, volunteered at four WELS congregations on the Fort Apache Reservation in June. They helped with a variety of tasks, including yard work, painting, and vacation Bible school.

CANTON, GEORGIA

St. John, Red Wing, Minn., collected its school chapel offerings for Christ the Rock, Canton, Ga., a WELS home mission. St. John’s students also sent along handmade bookmarks and this banner, which is being displayed by Missionary Cale Mead, who serves at Christ the Rock, and his two daughters.
