What's inside

It’s always an honor to attend a WELS synod convention, and this year’s convention was no different. More than 400 people gathered at Michigan Lutheran Seminary, Saginaw, Mich., this past summer for the 67th Biennial Synod Convention, and Forward in Christ staff was there to report on it. Check out our coverage, including photos, news updates, interviews, and stories. A portion of President Mark Schroeder’s report to the convention is also included in the September issue as well as an adaptation of one of the devotions.

This month, you also meet two women who share stories of God’s grace to them. Anna Linden, born and raised in Eastern Europe, grew up not knowing about Jesus and his grace. Cherry Simpson, born and raised WELS, rediscovers grace after being excommunicated. Be sure to read these faith-filled stories.
