4 men standing in churchRepresentatives from across Canada met at St. Peter, St. Albert, Alberta, Canada, in November for the WELS Canada annual general meeting. Attendees conducted elections for leadership positions in WELS Canada; explored ways to support Canadian students who want to attend Martin Luther College, New Ulm, Minn.; and participated in a workshop entitled “A ‘Proven Process’ for Discipleship.” WELS Canada consists of 13 congregations (4 missions, 2 unsubsidized missions, and 7 self-supporting congregations) serving over 1,700 souls. Eight men hailing from places like East Asia and South Sudan are studying to be pastors or evangelists through the Pastoral Studies Institute. Pictured are three of those students along with Sean Young, senior director of WELS Missions Operations. WELS Canada also has its own district mission board that explores more locations to plant churches and enhance ministries.
