Wow! The words shared throughout the gospel of John are truly encouraging and inspirational. It is wonderful to be reminded of how much God loves us and puts that into action. This is brought up repeatedly in These Words Are Written: Devotions on the Gospel of John by Pastor Stephen Helwig. As the book states, “All this is done because God the Holy Spirit—in love—gave us his gift of faith.”

In his book, Helwig shares brief devotions followed by short prayers focusing on various aspects of John’s ministry following Jesus’ walk of life.

Fortunately, there is nothing hard to understand or grasp here. It is the simple gospel truth that the Holy Spirit has freely given us. That can be seen throughout the book. Because of the gospel words in John, we are equipped to share so others may know about Christ. God loves this world and everyone in it. God did not spare his one and only Son so that whoever believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. This is truly amazing!

This is a unique study that leads you through the book of John verse by verse, offering plenty to react to after each devotion. I enjoyed it very much.
