WELS’ Latin America missions team created a Spanish website in 2015, which launched Academia Cristo. Since its launch, 47 students from 12 countries have become confessional Lutherans—41 in 2021 alone. Most of them have gathered and now lead groups of believers.
Academia Cristo’s goal is to reach many with the gospel to train the few who will reach many more on the ground throughout Latin America. Here’s how it works, using Dr. Eduardo Milanesi, a surgeon in Cochabamba, Bolivia, as an example:
