On April 28, Michigan Lutheran Seminary, Saginaw, Mich., celebrated the 50th anniversary in the teaching ministry of Steven Thiesfeldt.

On April 14, Divine Grace, Lake Orion, Mich., celebrated its 50th anniversary.

WINDSOR, COLORADO

On March 3, CrossView, Windsor, Colo., launched its public worship. This home mission plant was approved in 2022 and welcomed more than 85 guests to its opening worship service.

CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE

On March 24, Living Hope, Chattanooga, Tenn., celebrated the grand re-opening of its newly renovated facility. Living Hope began as a home mission in May 2017. Thanks to more than $350,000 in matching land and facility grants and a loan from WELS Church Extension Fund, the congregation purchased its current facility in December 2021. The renovated space is now equipped to serve Living Hope’s congregation and community.

MANITOWOC, WISCONSIN

East Band Fest 2024
Manitowoc Lutheran High School, Manitowoc, Wis., hosted the 2024 WELS East Regional Band Festival from March 15–17. The theme for the weekend was “The King of Love My Shepherd Is.”

WATERTOWN, SOUTH DAKOTA

West Band Fest 2024
Great Plains Lutheran High School, Watertown, S.D., hosted the 2024 WELS West Regional Band Festival. Eighty-two musicians from ten high schools gathered to practice on March 15 and 16 and then perform a festival concert together on March 17. The theme for the weekend was “From Sea to Shining Sea.”
