WELS members in Europe gathered for a Reformation retreat from Oct. 27–29, 2023, in Frankfurt, Germany.
Holy Cross, Oklahoma City, Okla., celebrated its 50th anniversary on Nov. 5, 2023.
NorthCross, Lakeville, Minn., held a Marriage Night attended by almost 90 couples in November 2023.
VACAVILLE, CALIFORNIA
St. John, Vacaville, Calif., offered water, treat bags, and invitations to Christmas Eve worship services to neighbors at the local Merriment on Main Christmas event.
MILWAUKEE, WISCONSIN
More than 400 high school students gathered for the WELS National Choral Festival at Wisconsin Lutheran College, Milwaukee, Wis., from Nov. 3–5, 2023. Each WELS high school that attended performed in a pops concert on Friday evening and a joint sacred concert on Sunday afternoon.
OSCEOLA, WISCONSIN
Zion, Osceola, Wis., has operated a pie and ice cream concession stand at its community fair for 40 years. It also sells pop and water during the community parade. Each year Zion donates its profits back to the community, which has totaled more than $100,000.
NEW ULM, MINNESOTA
A record number of people participated in the 13th year of Martin Luther College’s Sprinter Fun Run. The run kicks off Homecoming celebrations at the college. In addition to the 400 in-person participants, some also participated virtually from as far away as the Philippines and the Dominican Republic.
