ARIZONA-CALIFORNIA

On Aug. 20, a pickup truck crashed into Cross of Christ, Las Cruces, N.M., as member Julie Baker was practicing keyboard to prepare for worship the next day. Baker was not injured. Cross of Christ held its service off campus on Aug. 21 but was able to worship onsite again beginning on Aug. 28.

NEBRASKA

Our Savior, Longmont, Colo., celebrated seven baptisms over a two-week span in August.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!

MICHIGAN

On Sept. 12, St. Paul, Livonia, Mich., celebrated the 150th anniversary of its church and the 75th anniversary of its school.

NEBRASKA

On Sept. 23, Messiah, Wichita, Kan., celebrated the 35th anniversary in the pastoral ministry of Jonathan Rockhoff.

NORTHERN WISCONSIN

St. John, Pelican Lake, Wis., celebrated its 125th anniversary on Sept. 18.

St. Paul, Howards Grove, Wis., celebrated its 160th anniversary on Sept. 18.

On Aug. 28, Redeemer, Fond du Lac, Wis., celebrated the 40th anniversary in the teaching ministries of Scott Herrewig and David Lecker.

SOUTH CENTRAL

Holy Word, Austin, Texas, celebrated the 30th anniversary in the pastoral ministry of Don Patterson on Sept. 25.

WESTERN WISCONSIN

On Oct. 9, St. John, Rock Springs, Wis., celebrated its 150th anniversary.

NORTH ATLANTIC

District News Labor Day Berkshires November 22
WELS churches in Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, and New York joined together to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the WELS Labor Day Retreat in the Berkshires. Each year members come from along the East Coast to gather for Bible study, worship, and fellowship. The retreat became bilingual a few years ago. This year the retreat was held at Camp Danbee in Hindsdale, Mass.

MINNESOTA

Camp Croix, Danbury, Wis., hosted a men’s retreat from Sept. 16–18.
