Happy anniversary!

AZ-CA—Heritage, Gilbert, Ariz., celebrated its 35th anniversary on Nov. 7, 2021.

NW—On Oct. 10, 2021, Riverview, Appleton, Wis., celebrated the 40th anniversary in the pastoral ministry of Dennis Belter.

SEW—On Nov. 5, 2021, Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary, Mequon, Wis., celebrated the 40th anniversary in the pastoral ministry of John Schuetze.

MN Immanuel Gibbon

The Evangelism Committee of Immanuel, Gibbon, Minn., decorated trunks for two trunk-or-treat events on Oct. 31, 2021.



NE Carbon ValleyNEBRASKA
On Nov. 14, 2021, Carbon Valley Lutheran, a home mission congregation in Firestone, Colo., dedicated its new church building. The congregation converted a plant nursery into a space where people will grow in their faith. WELS Church Extension Fund, Inc., provided grants and loans to help with this building renovation project.


NW 922 Ministries

Every August, Appleton, Wis., holds the Mile of Music festival, which brings more than 80,000 people to the area. As part of this event, The CORE, a 922 Ministry, had the opportunity to have its Sunday morning worship service advertised in the Mile of Music schedule and promotional material. A typical Sunday morning service averages about 270 people, but this particular Sunday, the attendance was more than 550 people and included many Mile of Music attendees and first-time guests to The CORE.


MN National Choral Festival

Under the theme “One faith, one hope, one Lord,” Martin Luther College, New Ulm, Minn., hosted the 2021 WELS National Choral Festival Nov. 12-14. Choirs from 23 WELS high schools participated in a pops concert and a sacred concert. More than 500 students participated.

The district reporters for this month are: AZ-CA—Michael Schroeder; MN—James Panning; NE—Timothy Kemnitz; NW—Michael Dietz; SEW—Matthew Schaewe.
