District news: January 2021

Arizona-California—On Nov. 21, 2020, St. Paul’s First, North Hollywood, Calif., gave away 100 Thanksgiving grocery meal bags.

 

 

South Atlantic—Our Savior, Birmingham, Ala., assembled and distributed Advent kits, which included an Advent wreath and candles; an Advent devotion book; and children’s Bible stories, crafts, and coloring sheets to correspond with the devotions.

 

 

 

Northern Wisconsin—During their Thanksgiving worship services, members of Immanuel, Greenville, Wis., donated 1,500 food items to a local food pantry. Members also helped to sort and mark the donations at the pantry.

 

 

Northern Wisconsin—During the week of Thanksgiving, Trinity, Neenah, Wis., filled 60 bags of groceries to share with families in its community. Members visited families in person to drop off the groceries as well as information about its church and school ministries.

 

 

 

Happy anniversary!

MN—In November 2020, The Lutheran Home Association celebrated the 30th anniversary in the pastoral ministry of Joel Gaertner, the national director of Jesus Cares Ministries.
