Arizona-California

On Dec. 5, 2020, Grace, Casa Grande, Ariz., participated in a community light display to replace the annual Christmas parade.

 

 

 


Northern Wisconsin

Winnebago Lutheran Academy, Fond du Lac, Wis., and WELS churches and schools in the Fond du Lac area worked together to raise more than $12,000 to purchase gift cards for more than 600 medical professionals who work at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac. Students wrote notes of appreciation to each worker.

 


Pacific Northwest

Students at Evergreen Lutheran High School, Tacoma, Wash., collected toys and coats for a community charity in December 2020.

 

 

 

On Nov. 24, 2020, students at Holy Trinity, Des Moines, Wash., loaded up donations for the local food bank.

 

 


Western Wisconsin

St. Paul, Bloomer, Wis., used its refurbished organ for the first time at its 2020 Reformation service. The 1938 organ console was rebuilt with modern relays and electronics, leatherwork was refurbished, and a new trumpet reed rank was installed.

On Dec. 19, Zion, Columbus, Wis., purchased, assembled, and distributed 100 bags of groceries to give to community members. Each bag included an invitation to worship with Zion for Christmas. In addition to Zion, this project was also supported by WELS Christian Aid and Relief and Thrivent Financial.

 

 

 


Southeastern Wisconsin

Chaplains in Schools distributed 100 Christmas4Kids boxes to the students it serves in Milwaukee, Wis. St. Matthew, Oconomowoc, Wis., donated the boxes from its program.

Mount Calvary, Waukesha, Wis., held a live nativity in December 2020.
