Lights are shining at this youth center

These girls at Lighthouse Youth Center in Milwaukee, Wis., may look silly here, but the work that they're doing is serious business. Those pictured are part of the Girls' Leadership Program at the Lighthouse Youth Center. This program is designed to help young women from fifth grade through high school develop core leadership skills.

"Our hope is that these girls will not only recognize the strengths God has given them but also use them to build others up in their communities," says Laura Gottschalk, Girl's Leadership Coordinator at Lighthouse. "By growing as leaders and women of God, these young ladies are building brighter futures for themselves and those that they impact."

On display with the girls are two of the eight blankets that they made to donate to New Beginnings: A Home for Mothers, in Milwaukee. If you want to see other WELS members letting their lights shine to reflect Jesus' love, visit Forward in Christ's Community page. To learn more about the acts of love that are pictured, read Stories of Christian love.

Perfect love

Many people strive to find "perfect love," and that quest is on full display each year on Valentine's Day. Read Rhoda Wolle's article, Agape love, from the February issue of Forward in Christ to learn more about where we can find perfect love.
