Proud of our authors

Today's issue is devoted to sharing ways that our authors are helping others during this pandemic through the faithful use of their gifts. Example #1 comes from Laurie Gauger-Hested, a contributing author for Forward in Christ's "Parent conversations" column. Laurie wrote the hymn "Quiet me, my Lord," which was then arranged by Dale Witte and sung by the Martin Luther College Chorale. The words are a beautiful reminder for this uncertain time.

Quiet me, my Lord

Quiet me, my Lord,
when there's a storm astir.
Speak a soothing word

when worry dreams the worst.

Steer my steps this day
into a place of light.
Darkness cloaks the way
'til you cast out the night.

Pour a cup of hope
to slake my nervous thirst.
Fear will fill me up
unless you fill me first.

Keep me close and safe,
and walk me through all doors.
When I feel afraid,
remind me I am yours.

Children's devotions

Our new Bible study writer, Pastor Greg Lyon, has begun producing children's devotions online to spread God's comfort to young ones during the quarantine. The one spotlighted here is the second in the series, which Lyon is creating with the help of fellow members at Pilgrim, Menomonee Falls, Wis.
