Christine’s song
Have you read our cover article for August about Christine Trettin and how she found peace during her battle with cancer? If not, read the article, "My Christian life: Finding true peace through Psalm 23," on FIC's website. Then come back and check out this neat side story.

Songwriter Mike Westendorf, worship leader at St. Paul, Muskego, Wis., wrote a song for Christine Trettin right after he heard her story at church in April.
|
“I had gone to bed the night before, praying over and thinking about Christine and her testimony,” says Westendorf. “Woke up at about 6 a.m. with the bulk of the song written as I got up. . . . Songs don’t usually come that quickly for me, so it definitely was a focused inspiration.”
|
The congregation’s worship band debuted the song a week later so Christine could hear it via livestream. “I was actually directing the livestream . . . when they did the song live,” says Joel Trettin, Christine’s husband. “I had to sit down and just put my head in my hands and cry. So beautiful.”
