Churches share backpacks and God's Word

Christ, Denver, Colo., received a grant from WELS Christian Aid and Relief to provide 500 bags of school supplies for community children. Each bag included a note with information about the church, and each recipient was asked to fill out a card indicating if the family would like more information on programs that Christ offers. Seven recipients already have requested more information about Baptism.

WELS Christian Aid and Relief also provided grants for similar community programs to Risen Savior, Lakewood Ranch, Fla.; Our Savior, San Antonio, Texas; and Abiding Savior, Killeen, Texas. To read about these programs and others that are letting WELS members share their faith, read "Let your light shine" from the November issue.
