Juggling vicar year

Each third-year student at Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary, Mequon, Wis., spends a year in full-time training as a vicar in a WELS congregation. There he gets real-life experiences in preaching and teaching.

Chris Pflughoeft, who is spending his vicar year at Beautiful Savior, Green Bay, Wis., recently checked in and was highlighted on Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary's Facebook page. He writes:

"Here is another picture of vicar year under 'safer at home.' Sermon memorization has an extra hurdle or two. The little one was being fussy, so I held her while practicing. But, holding her made the older one jealous. So, I ended up holding both while practicing my sermon."

Forward in Christ highlighted photos of this school year's vicars in its April issue.
